Publication Ethic
HUMANIS: Humanities, Tourism and Management is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. We take all forms of misconduct seriously and follow the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Our ethical principles apply to everyone involved in the publishing process: authors, editors, and reviewers.
Authors' Responsibilities
-
Originality: Authors must submit only original, unpublished work. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously is considered unethical and is strictly forbidden.
-
Accuracy: All data and findings must be presented truthfully. Authors should be prepared to provide raw data if requested.
-
Plagiarism: Plagiarism in any form—including self-plagiarism—is unacceptable. We use plagiarism detection software to ensure the originality of all submissions.
-
Authorship: All individuals who have made significant contributions to the research must be listed as authors. Anyone who does not meet the authorship criteria should be acknowledged in the acknowledgements section.
-
Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, including financial or personal relationships that could influence the research.
Reviewers' Responsibilities
-
Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents. They should not discuss the content with anyone or use the information for their own benefit.
-
Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted objectively. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments and avoid personal criticism of the authors.
-
Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest. If a conflict exists, they should inform the editor and decline the review assignment.
-
Timeliness: Reviewers should provide their feedback in a timely manner to avoid delays in the publication process.
Editors' Responsibilities
-
Fairness: Editors must evaluate manuscripts based on their intellectual merit alone, without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, or political philosophy.
-
Confidentiality: Editors must ensure the confidentiality of the entire peer-review process.
-
Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Editors must disclose any conflicts of interest. They should not handle manuscripts where they have a conflict.
-
Decision Making: Editors are responsible for the final decision on whether to accept or reject a manuscript. Their decision should be based on the reviewer's feedback and the journal’s policy.
Handling Misconduct
HUMANIS takes allegations of research misconduct seriously. If misconduct is suspected, we will follow the COPE guidelines. This may include a formal investigation and, if misconduct is confirmed, the retraction of the published article. We are committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record.
